Ok so an ISSN Machariel owned by pilot æXÆ jumps through a 0.0 gate into System æZÆ and gets promptly locked down (i.e. scrambled) by a Muninn, Ishtar, Armageddon, Scorpion.
Not a huge amount of firepower there but he IS going to die, or at least....he should.
See, the pilot in question logs off just prior to getting shot up and as such, his ship just disappears, no 15 minute grace period where he should have been pounded into rubble, nothing, nadda, ziltch.
What does the guy do now? he repeatedly logs in and out to create an impromptu safespot. And the best thing about all of this? its apparently perfectly æokÆ...
...what is the point to this....
Quote: The PvP timer is split into three 15-minute periods. Whenever you are engaged in a player vs. player fight, the first timer starts. It is refreshed whenever that anything happens in combat, including when you get fired upon (even if you do not fire back). If you log off within 15 minutes of this timer's activation, the other two will kick into action. Note that your onscreen timer countdown may not take into account events that cause the timer to get refreshed. The second timer starts once you log off. Your ship will be warped to a random part of space and will remain there for another 15 minutes. Note that if the enemy has warp scrambling abilities, he can keep you in place for those 15 minutes and fire at you all the while. The phrase "sitting duck" comes to mind. If your ship gets destroyed, the third and last 15 minute timer will start. This time, it's your pod that does the emergency warp and remains in space for the duration of the timer.
....If such lame work-arounds can be exploited to avoid the PvP timer?
I hope a Dev reads this, if so please fix it. We had the 15 minute timer introduced precisely because of this nonsense, if itÆs broken it NEEDS looking at again.

I'm going to pre-empt any 'lame gate campers' nonsense from any empire dwellers who have never set foot in 0.0.
This guy screwed up, if you jump blind into a 0.0 system you are rolling a dice that is a fact of existence out in lawless space.
Your options if you come up unlucky:
1/ Fight your way out - destroy the tacklers and leave, or, if youÆre that dammed good, kill them all.
2/ Tank until help arrives - in most situations it just isnÆt going to happen
3/ Go 'Full Burn' back to the gate without returning fire - Blasterthron in a sticky situation basically, jump through leaving your aggressors behind then get away from the other side of the gate fast.
4/ Put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye - yup you screwed up and now you're going to die, that's life in New Eden...
Or you could just exploit faulty game mechanics giving you a 'get out of jail free' card....

Is this supposed to be clever or funny? Grow up and stop trolling what is a legitimate concern about a flaw in the game that IS being exploited... ----------

If you can't kill an scrambled BS with 4 ships (2 of which are BS) in 45 seconds, you really dont DESERVE the kill... I've seen some pretty useless camps in my time, and most of them are crap because the tacklers dont tackle fast enough.
My suggestion is refit your ships.
Are you seriously trying to justify this 'tactic'?

Oh ok I see, it's all clear now, he logged off while cloaked to... Oh yes, avoid 'being found' by a covert ops ship, right......I get it now...
I quite frankly don't give a monkey's what the explanation is for the lameness involved, the fact of the matter is a ship appeared 15km from a gate, was warp scrambled and disappeared, and the same tactic is being used time and again, to make ships with large amounts of hitpoints nigh on invulnerable to all but large fleets by exploiting a flaw in the PvP timer - THAT is the crux of the matter.

2nd of all, in reply to this:
Quote: Again, if you have ever seen these guys in action a solo mach wouldn`t last long ...
From my personal experience, all 'these guys' do is run around smacktalking in local, and once they're cornered, THEY LOG OFF. "Oh crap, i have to go eat supper, cya guys!". Nice one.
And some people need to learn not to run their mouths when they don't know what they are talking about...
There is a FLAW here that allows a work around of the 15 minute PvP timer.
As to your 'personal experience' I don't know you, and you probably don't know me. The general tone of conversation I've had in local have been of the form "good fight" or "awesome fight mate", so I'll leave it to the pilots IÆve fought against/alongside to decide on my abilities not some random alt posting flame-bait.

Does the phrase "why don't you go play hide and go **** yourself you piece of ****" ring any bells with you?
no?

You seem very excitable...
Excitable children normally tend to exaggerate, like I feel you may have done so with your "story".
I'm sorry you expect me to be nice to you when you attack my character?
**** you, you arrogant ****e.
Oh, do you actually have something to contribute other than personal attacks and trolling? or shall we just let this become a flame-fest?

1/ Back up your assertion I'm somehow lying.
2/ Apologise ----------

Why?
I don't believe you're telling the truth, and your subsequent tantrum is only strengthening my opinion...
I tend to believe ISS's version of the story.
You have brought up nothing new with your thread, seems to me you just want attention at the expense of ISS...
If you assert something back it up, it's quite simple. If you're going to attack someone's character you had better have good reason to...
The pilot's name is now in this thread, his previous actions also noted. Do you really believe someone would log off to avoid being detected by a covert ops while cloaked?

Nanobotter: Corp mates, Alliance security channels, map tools, scouts. When solo if you use the tools at your disposal you have to be really unlucky, generally by bumping into a hostile fleet that is on the move. Personally I rarely gate camp, it's really dull and going off solo is much more interesting, but then gate camping is very necessary strategy for all alliances.
Radioactive Babe: If you want to interpret it as "waa waa" then be my guest. The example was used to highlight an ongoing issue. IÆm not sure how using the address book comes under ælameÆ but each to their own I suppose.
P.s post with your mains
